CHARLOTTESVILLE — Eastern Hancock High School honored its boys basketball seniors and the group of five from the Class of 2023 didn’t disappoint Friday in a Mid-Eastern Conference contest against Union (Modoc).

The Royals improved to 16-6 overall and finished MEC play 8-1 with an 89-7 win over the Rockets. Union dropped to 5-12 and 0-8 in conference play.

Jacob Spaulding led four double-figure scoring seniors with 19 points. Twin brother Silas Spaulding had 11. Edric Miller and Grant Gray had 10 points apiece. Senior Jayden Stine scored six points.

All 11 Royals players that played scored.

Eastern Hancock finishes its regular season with two games on the road next week. The Royals travel to Class 4A Pendleton Heights Tuesday and visit Hagerstown Friday.
