INDIANAPOLIS — Leon McGee is serving as an intern for the Indiana Senate Majority Caucus during the 2023 legislative session, said State Sen. Michael Crider, R-Greenfield.

McGee, a resident of Urbana, Illinois, graduated from Urbana High School, holds a B.A. in sociology and is in his second semester of his master’s degree in political science at Eastern Illinois University.

“Interns are an integral part of the daily operations at the Indiana Statehouse and I appreciate all the work that they do throughout the day to keep the legislative process moving,” Crider said. “Leon has been a great help in my office and I look forward to continuing to work with him and teaching him about the legislative process.”

As a legislative intern, McGee tracks and analyzes bill data, provides constituent services, staffs Senate committee hearings and meetings, and conducts legislative policy research.

Senate Majority interns work through the duration of the legislative session, which is scheduled to end in April.
