Wellspring offers support, mental health groups

GREENFIELD – Wellspring Center, a resource for those in need of whole health and mental health services, has announced support groups starting this month.

Family Grace, Living Grace, Power Up and Redefine Grace groups meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday evenings starting Jan. 17. Family Grace is a 15-week peer-led group that helps people care for their physical, emotional, relational and spiritual needs; it’s for those caring for someone living with mental health difficulty or disorder, such as depression, anxiety and addiction. Living Grace is a group for those living with a mental health difficulty or disorder. Power Up is a group for children ages 9-12 to help alleviate the stress and challenges kids and parents face. Redefine Grace is a 10-week small group for 13- to 18-year-olds; it’s a resource providing simple, innovative mental health solutions. It’s open to join at any time.

Children’s theater to host auditions for new play

GREENFIELD – KidsPlay, Inc. children’s theater will host auditions for third- through eighth-grade students for the spring production of “Gravestone Manor.”

Auditions are 6-8:30 p.m. Jan. 17 for returning KidsPlay participants, and at the same time Jan. 19 for new auditioners. Auditions are in the Memorial Building, 98 E. North St., Greenfield.

The play is scheduled for April 21-23 and will include short comedic skits. Parts are available for up to 40 speaking roles and 12 dancers. New auditioners should come prepared with an audition monologue of one minute or less. Rehearsals will be Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6-8:30 p.m. For more, email [email protected].

Friends of the Library accepting donations Saturday

GREENFIELD – Donations of gently-used books, DVDs, CDs and video games will be accepted at the Hancock County Public Library 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday, Jan. 14.

Drop off items at the side delivery entrance of the HCPL (northeast corner) in Greenfield. A volunteer will assist when someone rings the bell. A tax receipt may be requested.

Because of limited space, donations can only be made on specified dates.

Donations go to the Friends of the Library, a non-profit, charitable group of volunteers who raise money through the sale of donated items. Proceeds help fund concerts, children’s performers, and special projects at the library.
