Community health classes coming in 2023

GREENFIELD – Healthy 365 has announced several community classes coming up in the new year.

QPR training will be offered in 2023, with the first Jan. 24. Mental Health First Aid Training is also coming up soon.

A 16-week course for people who love someone with addictions will start in the new year, as will Hancock Health’s Substance Use Treatment program called “RISE Recovery and Wellness. A “Better Choices/Better Health” course for people with chronic disease is also coming in 2023.

The agency launched a new website for support groups, community education and events called Hancock Wellbeing. For more, visit hancockwellbeing.org.

State of the Community meeting in January

GREENFIELD – The Greenfield Area Chamber of Commerce will host a “State of the Community” member meeting at 1:30 a.m. Jan. 10 at NineStarConnect, 2243 E. Main St., Greenfield.

Guest speakers are Jeannine Gray, Hancock County Council; Mayor Chuck Fewell, city of Greenfield; Steve Long, CEO of Hancock Health; and Randy Sorrell, Hancock Economic Development Council.

Grazing, soil and more taught at upcoming conference

FERDINAND – The multi-state “Heart of America Grazing Conference” is planned for Feb. 20-21 where forage and grazing experts from across the nation will discuss the latest research in grazing, soil science/health and more.

Registration for the “Heart of America Grazing Conference” is now available at www.indianaforage.org or by sending a paper registration and check to the American Forage and Grassland Council.
