HANCOCK COUNTY — The Hancock County Commissioners have decided to postpone their vote on the county’s new comprehensive plan.

Officials said they wanted to delay the decision to give time for incoming county planning director Kayla Brooks and incoming county commissioner Gary McDaniel to review the document.

The vote is now slated for the commissioners’ Jan. 3 meeting, which starts at 8 a.m. at the Hancock County Courthouse Annex, 111 American Legion Place, Greenfield.

If approved, the comprehensive plan will be officials’ guide for making decisions concerning development and infrastructure over the next 20 years. The document includes future land use recommendations, a thoroughfare plan and economic development strategy. It’s available at futurehancock.com.
