The initial dual meet of Greenfield-Central’s girls wrestling program produced a victory.
The Cougars defeated host Perry Meridian 31-30 Wednesday.
They were declared the winners by having more wins by fall.
Former state runner-up, Kylie Smith-Foster (113), Abi Elliott (126), Chloe Rafalco (145), Ella Harpold (170) and Maddy Reed (182) all were victorious win pins.

Marauders beat Trojans, Spartans
Mt. Vernon picked up wins Thursday and Friday to improve its record to 3-2.
In a 49-28 win at home over Connersville on Friday, Ellery Minch led the way with 25 points. Easton Wampler had 12. Minch added eight rebounds and three steals. Wampler also contributed four steals and three assists. Khloe Patterson had five rebounds and five assists.
In a 45-31 win, also at home, over Bishop Chatard Thursday, Minch had 13 points. Wampler scored nine and had four steals and three assists. Patterson had seven points to go with 12 rebounds, five assists and five steals.
