Eastern Hancock wrapped up its volleyball regular season with a 3-0 victory over visiting rival Knightstown Tuesday.

The Royals will take a 17-13 record into the postseason and open up play in the Eastern Hancock Sectional Thursday, Oct. 13 against Triton Central (17-8) at 6 p.m.

In the win over Knightstown (8-18), the Royals won by set scores of 25-17, 25-15, 25-18.

Dragons win conference match

New Palestine improved to 22-4 overall and 5-1 in the Hoosier Heritage Conference with a 3-0 victory, on Senior Night, over Shelbyville (5-21, 0-7) Tuesday.

The Dragons won by set scores of 25-13, 25-10, 25-8.

Senior setter Isabella Gizzi had a double-double with 30 assists and 10 kills.

Senior middle blocker Reagan Kleiman had nine kills. Senior libero Honour Mallory had 10 digs.

Outside hitter Lauren Wilson added 15 kills and three service aces and defensive specialist Azure Flagle had six digs and three aces.

The Dragons wrap up conference play tonight at Mt. Vernon (11-15, 2-4).

Cougars lose to No. 1 HSE

Greenfield-Central dropped a 3-0 decision against Hamilton Southeastern, at home, Tuesday.

Set scores for the match were 25-8, 25-11, 25-10.

Mya Grigsby led the G-C attack with seven kills, and the defense, too, with nine digs. Setter Makenna Rankins had 19 assists.

Greenfield-Central falls to 9-16. HSE, the top ranked team in Class 4A, is 26-1.

The Cougars play host to Triton Central Thursday.
