McCORDSVILLE — Indianapolis-based GDI Companies has withdrawn its petition to the town of McCordsville to annex and rezone about 160 acres at the northeast corner CR 500N and CR 700W, where the developer pitched plans for four speculative buildings totaling nearly 1.7 million square feet.
In an email to a McCordsville official, a GDI executive said the company feels it would be unsuccessful in receiving the requested rezoning due to an unfavorable recommendation from town staff and additional feedback received from town officials.
McCordsville Town Council did vote in favor of the annexation, although by a one-vote margin, last month in the first of what would have been two votes.
The site has a residential zoning designation through Hancock County. GDI did not return a request for comment on if it plans to pursue a rezone from county leadership.
