Editor’s note: The Daily Reporter is partnering with the Hancock County Community Foundation to highlight local nonprofit organizations in the community, what they offer and how they could enhance their services through additional funding from Match Day.

Featured Match Day participant: New Palestine Education Foundation

President: Gary Haliburton

Mission: To promote and support quality public education in Brandywine and Sugar Creek townships.

Community offerings: The New Palestine Education Foundation was established in 2010 as the Southern Hancock Education Foundation. A small group of community members partnered with several educators to start this foundation to support the schools in the Community School Corporation of Southern Hancock County.

Match Day funding plans: The focus would remain on our primary goal areas, which include teacher mini-grants and professional development grants. The foundation may also seek new, innovative ways to collaborate with the Southern Hancock schools in areas such as pandemic response, socio/emotional needs, and new learning challenges.
