GREENFIELD — Officials with the Greenfield Police Department say the man found dead in his vehicle Tuesday afternoon in the Pet Smart parking lot, 2211 Barrett Drive, Greenfield, has been identified as John D. Lime, 81, of Rush County. Lime appears to have died as the result of a medical emergency suffered while in the parking lot, officials from the GPD said. Lime’s family has been notified of his death and were able to provide detectives and the county coroner with health history information. A person walking by the truck noticed the man inside on Tuesday and called 911. Officers from the GPD arrived and realized the man was dead and had been in the truck for possibly a few days. A dog was also found dead in the truck.
