At Pendleton’s Fall Creek Golf Club, New Palestine shot its best round of the season in a 167-184 victory over Pendleton Heights Monday.
Lily Kirchner led New Palestine with a 40. Katie Kelley shot 41 and Hanna Beller carded a 42. Lauren Appleby was the final scoring golfer with a 44.
Kate Stanfield shot 47 and Zoe Nelson finished with a 48.
The Dragons were scheduled to have Senior Day Tuesday at Hawk’s Tail prior to their match with Mt. Vernon.
Wherry wins medal, Mt. Vernon wins meet
In a triangular meet at Arrowhead Golf Course Monday, Mt. Vernon defeated Greenfield-Central and Warren Central.
Greenfield-Central’s Sydnie Wherry was the meet medalist.
Wherry shot a match-best 42.
Leading the way for the Marauders were Natalie Miner and Kalin Wallpe. Both shot 47s.
Mt. Vernon had a team score of 190. Greenfield-Central shot 211 and Warren Central finished with a 235.
Following Wherry, Ella Neill and Tanessa O’Neal shot 49 and 57, respectively.
Mt. Vernon was scheduled to play New Palestine at Hawk’s Tail Tuesday.
Greenfield-Central travels to Shelbyville Thursday.

Marauders fall in Top 20 battle
In a matchup of two teams ranked in the Indiana Soccer Coaches Association (ISCA) poll, No. 19 Mt. Vernon lost to visiting No. 10 Fishers 1-0 Monday.
The Tigers scored the game’s lone goal in the final four minutes of action.
Mt. Vernon (7-3) travels to No. 8 Center Grove today.
Cougars get shutout tie
Greenfield-Central (3-4-1) finished in a scoreless tie at Greenwood Monday.
Goalkeeper Hannah Skene recorded the shutout.
G-C plays at New Palestine today.
Volleyball
Royals improve to 4-2 in MEC
With a 3-1 victory at Randolph Southern Monday, Eastern Hancock improved to 4-2 in the Mid-Eastern Conference and 10-9 overall.
The Royals won by set scores of 23-25, 25-16, 25-17, 25-16.
Eastern Hancock is scheduled to play at Southwestern Thursday.
Mt. Vernon defeated by Roncalli
Mt. Vernon lost 3-0 to visiting Roncalli Monday.
The Marauders lost by set scores of 25-13, 25-20, 25-22.
Sierra Holverson led Mt. Vernon with eight kills. Sophia Damer had three block solos. Ainsley Baer had a pair of service aces.
Libby Gee-Weiler had 19 digs. Setter Ava Whitmore had 10 digs and 19 assists.
After a match at Greenfield-Central Tuesday, Mt. Vernon is scheduled to play host to New Castle Thursday.
