Making an INpact: Local musicians join statewide honor band

HANCOCK COUNTY – Dozens of local musicians joined the 2022 INpact Honor Band Aug. 12-13, performing with 500 students statewide in a musical leadership program.

There were 32 Greenfield Central Junior High and Greenfield-Central High School students from grades 7-9 that participated, as well as 12 Mt. Vernon students.

The musicians took part in rehearsals and leadership opportunities throughout the weekend, including Friday performance on Monument Circle in Indianapolis and a Saturday performance at Lucas Oil Stadium as part of the 50th Drum Corps International World Championships.

Additionally, four New Palestine High School students performed with the Casper Troopers the same weekend. Casper Troopers are a Drum Corps International group, one of the competitive ensembles that played at Lucas Oil where INPact performed.

Greenfield-Central participants included Jeremy Powell, Blake Simpson, Alexander Lawson, Finnian Anderson, Keygan Dalton, Tyler Mullen, Ava Brim, Nevaeh Carmichael, Kaylee Miller, Janie Kingsbury, Chloe Kiser, Kaydince VanZeyl, Cassady Oakes-Ford, Baron Linder, Bailey Proctor, Kaedynn Lashaway, Landon Frieden, Marly King, Shana Douglass, Alessandro Sanchez, Anna Studer, Katelin Reynolds, Landon Essex, Brayden Simpson, Joseph Davenport, Natalie Jones, Mia Hutcherson, Mason Miller, Joe Parker, Matthew Nance, Emma Summers and Lorelei Swanson.

Mt. Vernon participants were James Wilson, Sally Lottes, Michael McNutt, Aiden Stiff, Emmaline Cutshaw, Kaitlyn Anderson, Sophia Bentson, Sarah Blankenship, Mason Gore, Parker Raiten, Elias Sauter and Chase Alford.

New Palestine/ Casper Troopers participants were Garrett Jackson, Landon Niles, Layla Spencer and Adam Wagoner.
