HANCOCK COUNTY — The Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Milestone Contractors LP will close I-70 eastbound to Mt. Comfort Road for road reconstruction starting on or after Monday, Aug. 22 until the end of October.

The road reconstruction includes full depth concrete replacement on I-70 and adding a third lane. The ramp will be closed during the process of the concrete replacement to ensure the safety of workers as they complete this work. The Mt. Comfort Road ramp will not be reconstructed.

The project in Hancock County began this spring and is scheduled to be complete in fall 2024, weather depending. The multi-construction season project will add a lane to I-70 from CR 700 to Ind. 9.

Motorists should slow down, watch for stopped traffic and drive distraction-free through all work zones. All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change.
