GPD detectives investigate robbery

GREENFIELD — Greenfield Police detectives are actively investigating a reported armed robbery from Thursday night in the 1100 block of Walnut Street.

While no one was injured in the incident, multiple people reported hearing a gunshot in the area and called officials. When officers arrived on the scene, they were provided descriptions of a vehicle that left the scene and were told a white male was seen running from the area.

The male victim who ran from the scene to a nearby convenience store called 911, officials said in a press release. The victim told officers his vehicle, a white 2021 Nissan Sentra, was stolen by 3 males and one of them he said had a gun.

The vehicle was recovered a short time later after it was abandoned in the parking lot of Bradford Builders at 119 N. Broadway Street, GPD deputy chief and public information officer Capt. Chuck McMichael said in the release.

“Detectives are still trying to identify the three males involved in the robbery and the events that [led] to it,” McMichael said.

The vehicle was towed by Inman’s Towing for evidence processing.

Anyone who lives in the 1100 block of Walnut Street and has security cameras is being asked to check them for any activity involving a white, newer-model Nissan Sentra between 4:40 and 4:55 p.m. Thursday, July 28.

For those living near Bradford Builders, officials ask for people to please check cameras between 4:50 and 7:30 p.m.
