Sandra “Sandi” L. Helms, 67, of Morristown, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022 at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born August 7, 1954 in Greenfield the daughter of Raymond and Patricia (Bricker) Anderson.

Sandi was a 1972 graduate of Eastern Hancock High School and following graduation went to work at Lane Bryant where she was employed for 38 years before retiring. She was involved in the marching band in high school; she was a majorette. She was also involved in 4-H and was queen of the Indiana Yorkshire Association. Sandi enjoyed playing the lottery and visiting the casino, coon hunting, fishing, playing with and attending the sporting events of her grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her daughter, Becki (Roger) Evans of New Castle; grandchildren, Hunter (Ivy Glover) Hinton of Florida, Parker Evans of New Castle; great granddaughter, Adelyn Hinton of Florida; siblings, Jim (Stella) Anderson of Carthage, Kathi (Randy) Riggs of Morristown; best friend, Linda Manor; nephew, Mike (Jenny Stevenson) Anderson; nieces, Angel (Adam ) Graham, Karri (Derek) Brown, Tarra (Sean) Youngclaus; great nephews, Dillon Graham, Griffin Brown, Austin Brown, Waylin Brown, Mason Youngclaus, Blake Youngclaus, Cooper Youngclaus, Carson Anderson, Ethan Anderson and Jackson Stevenson; great nieces, Devin Brown, Zoey Graham, Kennedy Anderson, Kylee Anderson, Jessica (Cody) Howell, Cassidy Stevenson and Mallory Stevenson; sister-in-law, Sharon Williams; brothers-in-law, Les (Janice) Helms, Tracy Alan Helms and Terry (Linda) Helms; LaDonna Gardner, who was like a second mother and Bonnie Craig, who was a younger sister to Sandi for years; several other family members and special friends from Eastern Hancock High School class of 1972.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Helms;

nephew, Dace Riggs; niece, Lacy Jo Riggs; uncle and aunt, Bud and Imogene Bricker.

Anyone wishing to bring a lottery ticket in Sandi’s honor is encouraged to do so.

Services will be at 2:00pm Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Alan Collier officiating. Burial will follow in McCray Cemetery.
