King’s Brass to play Aug. 4

GREENFIELD — Tim Zimmerman and the King’s Brass will appear in concert at 7 p.m. Aug. 4 at St. James Lutheran Church, 1741 S. State St.

They present hymn classics with a contemporary flair, featuring three trumpets, three trombones, a tuba, percussion and keyboards.

Based out of Fort Wayne, the group plans more than 150 concerts a year.

The group’s 18th recording is “Christmas JOY” (www.summitrecoreds.com).

Classic car events scheduled

McCORDSVILLE — Cars and Coffee events will be Saturday mornings this summer at Outlook Christian Church, 6531 N. County Road 600W, McCordsville.

Remaining events are scheduled for 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. July 23, Aug. 6 and Aug. 20. Search “Outlook Cars & Coffee” on Facebook for updates.

Next Music at Mohawk is Aug. 13

MOHAWK — A series of free, family-friendly music events concludes at 6 p.m. Aug. 13 with The Occasional Blues Band on the west lawn and shelter house of Mohawk United Methodist Church, 2045 W. County Road 400N, Greenfield, adjacent to the children’s play area.

People are encouraged to bring seating such as blankets or lawn chairs, as provided seating is limited to a few picnic tables. There will also be a “tip jar” so folks can show appreciation for each group and help offset costs.

Free hotdogs served Mondays

FORTVILLE — Free hotdogs are served from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Mondays in July at Gateway Community Church of Fortville, 125 E. Staat St.

Hotdogs, chips and drinks will be served, and there are activities and games for children.

Curry’s Chapel to show film from ‘God’s Not Dead’ series

GREENFIELD — A movie, “God’s Not Dead: We the People,” will be shown at 6:30 p.m. Saturday (July 16) at Curry’s Chapel Church, 3488 N. County Road 375E. The church shares “Movies with a Point” the third Thursday of the month.

Refreshments will be served.

Worship on the Water coming

GEIST — Mercy Road Church Northeast in Fortville and Pub Theology present Worship on the Water, set for July 27 and Aug. 24 at Wolfies Grill, 11699 Fall Creek Road, Indianapolis. It’s designed to be suitable for the spiritually curious. People can drive there or boat up.

People can choose to buy dinner there at 6 p.m. Worship begins at 7 and live music at 8.
