Children to perform fairy tale on stage

GREENFIELD – “The Enchantment of Beauty and the Beast” will be performed by roughly 100 students from all four Hancock County school corporations at 7 p.m. Friday, June 24 and Saturday, June 25.

The Hancock County Children’s Theater camp concludes with the production of the play at Greenfield-Central High School. Tickets are $7; for tickets call 317-694-4520.

CrazyLake to present “Once Upon a Mattress”

GREENFIELD – Tickets are on sale now for “Once Upon a Mattress,” presented by CrazyLake Acting Company in downtown Greenfield.

The show is July 8, 9, 10, 15, 16 and 17 at the H.J. Ricks Centre for the Arts, 122 W. Main St., Greenfield. Friday and Saturday performances are at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday performances are at 2:30 p.m. Tickets are available in advance for $10 plus a fee at https://mattressclac.bpt.me and Hometown Comics and Games, 1040 N. State St., Greenfield. Tickets are $12 at the door an hour before showtime.

Free events set for Depot Street Park

GREENFIELD – Depot Street Park will be the site of back-to-back events this weekend.

Entertainment @ Depot Street Park concert series will feature a free performance by Scott Greeson and Trouble with Monday at 7 p.m. Friday, June 24.

A free movie will be shown at dusk Saturday, June 25 with lawn games beginning at 8 p.m. Visit facebook.com/greenfieldparks for details.

The park is located at 251 Depot St., Greenfield.

Live music, fireworks Saturday in Cumberland

CUMBERLAND – Blues, Beer and BBQ will be featured in Cumberland this weekend in the festival that features live music and concludes with fireworks. Gordon Bonham and the Tad Robinson Band will be on stage 6-10 p.m. Saturday, June 25 at 11623 E. Washington St., Cumberland. Other dates for Blues, Beer and BBQ are July 30 and Aug. 27.

Several events set at HCPL

GREENFIELD – A magician, roller derby presentation and a cooking class are among the list of activities at the Hancock County Public Library next week.

Magician Daniel Lusk will give a family performance at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday, June 27 at the main branch and Sugar Creek branch, respectively.

Dr. Michella Marino, author of “Roller Derby: The History of an American Sport” will give a presentation to adults at 6:30 p.m. June 27 at the main branch.

A workshop for adults on July 4 treats will be at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. June 29 at the main branch and 10 a.m. June 30 at the Sugar Creek branch.

Tie dye party June 25

MCCORDSVILLE – Bring your own white T-shirt for a tie dye party at 10:30 a.m. June 25 at McCordsville Town Hall, 6280 W. 800N.

The event, hosted by the Fortville-Vernon Township Library, will include dye and several activities, including dogs from Bentley’s Buddies. The event is one of several for the library’s “Oceans of Possibilities” summer reading club. Visit facebook.com/Fortville.Public.Library for details.
