June Ann (Herbert) Jensen, age 81, of New Palestine, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2022. She was born in Locust, New Jersey on June 15, 1940 to Ester (Stryker) and George Herbert. She was a 1957 graduate of Middletown High School in Middletown, New Jersey. On September 1, 1962, June married Gerald S. Jensen in Ft. Monmouth, New Jersey.
Before retiring in 2004, she worked as a financial bookkeeper at the Indianapolis Salvation Army for over 20 years. June was an avid reader and enjoyed going to the library and participating in book clubs. She loved gardening and ballroom dancing with Gerald. She was also a great cook and baker and enjoyed cooking for her family.
June is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Gerald; son, William Patrick Jensen (Lori); grandchildren, Erik Jensen, Sarah Jensen, Allison Jensen and Rachel Jensen; great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Mason and Marleigh; and sisters, Pamela Becker and Ruth Patterson. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Peter Scott Jensen; and sister, Georgia Herbert.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dennis Judy officiating. Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery.
