GREENFIELD
Bernice Julia Snider passed peacefully at her son, Gary’s home on May 4, 2022 from complications related to Alzheimer’s. Bernice was born September 1, 1925 in Franklin, Indiana to Erme and Alice Jewell. She married Don Snider on January 31, 1948. Berniece graduated from Anderson High School where she was a cheerleader for the Indians.
Bernice worked for Delco Remy in Anderson and Hancock Memorial Hospital in Greenfield. Her and Don owned and operated Snider’s Self-Serve Laundromat in Knightstown for many years
She loved being outside, tending to her beautiful flowers, doing yardwork and taking walks. She also enjoyed helping others, reading and spending time with her family and friends. Bernice was a generous and kind person who always looked after others. She always considered one of her and Don’s greatest accomplishments was making sure that their two children, Gary and Linda, graduated from college with zero debt.
Bernice is survived by her two children; Linda (Jim) Thixton, Gary Snider; brother and best friend, Tom (Lisa) Jewell; sister, Donna Kirby; grandchildren, Andy, Kim, and Kristina Snider, Ron and Steve Walker, Amber Nuffer; great grandchildren, Cashton Babcook, Mallory and Avery Snider, Reis, Riley and Makayla Walker and Laney Nuffer; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Snider on October 1, 1999; parents; sisters, Lillian, Louise, Christine, Dolly and Nina and her beloved dogs, Susie and Jennie.
Services will be held on Monday at 12:00 pm at Condo &St. Pierre Funeral Service &Crematory, 130 S. Main St., Wilkinson, Indiana 46186 with Chaplain Mac Burberry officiating. Burial will be at McCray Cemetery in Wilkinson.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
