GREENFIELD
Joseph “Joe” Sheedy, age 55, of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family and close friends. He was born in New Jersey on December 13, 1966 to Beatrice (Doninger) and Edward Sheedy. He went to Thomas Carr Howe High School in Indianapolis. On December 20, 1986, Joe married the love of his life, April Summit, in Indianapolis. The two were happily married for 35 years but had been inseparable since they were young teenagers.
For over 35 years, he worked at INDOT as a claims coordinator. Joe was a member at Greenfield Church of God for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed racing at the Indianapolis Speedrome, where he raced, spectated, mentored and turned wrenches. He also loved spending time with his grandbabies.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, April Sheedy of Greenfield; daughters, Katie Foster (Jonathan) of Greenfield and Heather Neat (Edward) of Indianpolis; granddaughters, Chloe and Elaina Neat; siblings, Ed Sheedy Jr. (Dawn) of New Jersey, Ron Sheedy (Eva) of Greenwood, Beatrice Jameson of Indianapolis and Teresa Preston of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews; and lifelong best friends, Chris Young and Charles Simpson. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Gonzalez; and brothers, Bob and Billy Campanello.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at the mortuary on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Jack Stout will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
