Here’s a look at what’s coming up at local libraries in Hancock County.

Children’s programs slated at HCPL

GREENFIELD – A mini golf event and plant program are among children’s activities coming up in April at the Hancock County Public Library.

“Miniature Mini Golf” will allow children in grades 1-5 create their own golf course hole and then children play it together at 3:30 p.m. Monday, April 4.

“Native Plants” will allow children in grades kindergarten through fifth to learn about species in Indiana and decorate a pot to put their own wildflowers in. The plant event is at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 12.

A special evening family storytime is scheduled for families with kids ages 2 to 6 and will include stories, songs and a craft at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 13.

All three events will be at the main branch, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield. Registrations can be made at hcplibrary.org by clicking on the events tab.

Adult book clubs coming up at area libraries

GREENFIELD – Adult book clubs are happening this month at local libraries.

“The Alice Network” by Kate Quinn will be discussed at 7 p.m. April 7 at the Fortville-Vernon Township Public Library, 625 E. Broadway St., Fortville. For more, visit fvtpl.org.

A Brown Bag Book Discussion featuring Janice Hadlow’s “The Other Bennet Sister” is scheduled for 10 a.m. April 12 at the main branch of the Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield. Visit hcplibrary.org for more or to sign up.
