Several kindergarten roundups this month

HANCOCK COUNTY – Several Hancock County elementary schools are hosting kindergarten roundup events this month, inviting parents of soon-to-be kindergarten students to meet teachers, learn about the schools and register for the 2022-23 school year. Students must be 5 years old on or before Aug. 1, 2022 to attend kindergarten.

Greenfield-Central’s kindergarten roundup events are 3-6 p.m. April 4 and April 6 for Eden and JB Elementary schools; and April 5 and April 7 for Weston and Harris elementary schools. Visit www.gcsc.k12.in.us for more information.

Mt. Vernon’s Fortville, McCordsville and Mt. Comfort elementary schools will host events 3-6 p.m. April 5 and April 7. Visit mvcsc.k12.in.us for details.

Southern Hancock’s New Palestine, Sugar Creek and Brandywine elementary schools will host roundups 6-8 p.m. April 12. Visit www.newpal.k12.in.us for details.

Eastern Hancock Elementary School already had its kindergarten roundup event, but people with questions about that school may visit easternhancock.org to learn about enrollment.

Taulbee earns fifth at state competition

CHARLOTTESVILLE – Eastern Hancock senior Breawna Taulbee placed fifth in a state competition for Jobs for America’s Graduates this month.

The fifth place honor was for the employability skills competition at the JAG Indiana State Career Development Conference.

EH to hold community meeting

CHARLOTTESVILLE – A community engagement event is coming up to help Eastern Hancock officials ensure graduates have skills and attributes they need to be successful after high school.

Black and Gold Gala set

FORTVILLE – The Mt. Vernon Education Foundation will host its Black and Gold Gala at 6 p.m. April 23 at the JW Marriott in downtown Indianapolis.
