Tayler Deann Helgason, age 27, of Greenfield, passed away Monday, March 7, 2022 at Hancock Regional Hospital. She was born in Indianapolis on January 27, 1995 to Jeffery and Tracy (Saunders) Helgason. She was a 2013 graduate of Cathedral High School. Tayler received her bachelor’s degree from Butler University in 2017 and her BSN at Marian University, through their accelerated nursing program, in 2019.

Tayler started her nursing career at Methodist hospital on the 6S unit. She then transferred to IU North Riley Children’s Hospital in Carmel, in the Emergency Department. Her love and compassion for children made her an excellent nurse in the pediatric field. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority at Butler University, Sigma Theta Tau – Honor Society of Nursing through Indiana University and National Association of Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP). Tayler would have graduated in May with her master’s degree to become a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.

Tayler’s first love was vacationing at Walt Disney World and everything Disney. She thought it was the most magical place on earth. She also enjoyed traveling the world, seeing the sites, and learning new cultures. She represented the Greenfield Sister City Program as a foreign exchange student, in Japan. While there, one of the highlights of the trip was getting to visit Tokyo Disneyland. In college she studied abroad in Greece and London. While in London, she traveled to Scotland, Ireland, and Paris, France.

Tayler is survived by her loving parents, Jeff and Tracy Helgason of Greenfield; sisters, Coco Helgason and Katie Helgason both of Greenfield; brother, Jimmy Helgason of Greenfield; paternal grandparents, Jim and Carolyn Helgason of Greenfield; maternal grandparents, Karen Saunders of Indianapolis: Ron and Pam Saunders of Indianapolis; aunts and uncles, Jill and Chris Broome of Greenfield, Tammy and Brian Maynard of Lafayette, Clint Saunders of Indianapolis, and Amy Dill (Jimmy) of Avon; and cousins, Mitch and Molly Broome of Greenfield, Izabella Maynard of Lafayette and Blake Dill of Avon.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 12 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m at Brandywine Community Church, 1551 E. New Rd., Greenfield, IN 46140. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00pm. Pastor Andy Flink will be officiating. Inurnment will take place on a later date at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
