INDIANAPOLIS
Robert “Bob” A. Stratman, age 81, of Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Arlington Place Health Campus. He was born in Indianapolis on March 25, 1940 to Lillie (Smith) Athon and Frank Stratman. He graduated from Warren Central High School in 1959. On September 14, 1963, Bob married Jean Just at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Indianapolis and the two were married for 58 years.
He worked for Naval Avionics as a machinist for over 20 years before retiring. Bob was a member at St. Michael Catholic Church and St. Simon Catholic Church as well as the Knights of Columbus. In his free time, he enjoyed woodworking, blacksmithing, golfing, fishing, playing cards and listening to country music. He loved time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Bob is survived by his wife Jean Stratman of Indianapolis; children, Rick Stratman (Jewellia) of New Palestine, Dean Stratman (Shirley) of Indianapolis, and Brian Stratman (Jenny) of Greenfield; grandchildren, Ben (Tiffany), Liz (Errick Peck), Haley, Dean II (Amanda), Brock (Britney), Emily, Henry, Sophie, Brynn, Bridget, and Mary Ellen; great-grandchildren, Cole, Peyton, Noah, Gracie, Brantley, Isabella, Dean III, Ollie, Theo, Juliette and Lilah brother, Joe Stratman (Laura) of Vandalia, OH; and sister, Shirleyann Bedwell (Don) of Greenfield. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Emmett Stratman; and sister, Sonja Lee (Bob) Fuller.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, 519 Jefferson Blvd, Greenfield, IN 46140. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at noon. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield. Arrangements are being handled by Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory in Greenfield.
