GREENFIELD — The Greenfield-Central Community School Corporation is offering free COVID antigen testing for symptomatic staff and students this weekend and again next week.

Those who are asymptomatic, or show no signs of illness, are not eligible.

The testing is available by appointment only from 9-10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 6, and from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, Feb. 10, inside Door 29 of Greenfield-Central High School.

Testing will be performed by trained personnel, although appointments are limited due to staffing and supply constraints. No health insurance information will be collected.

In order to be eligible to receive a free test, the staff member or student’s parent or guardian must register online. If the testing slot is full, a message stating that the form is no longer accepting responses will pop up, so check another time slot.

If all time slots are full, those seeking testing should reach out to community testing sites or their healthcare provider.

To get to Door 29 of the high school, turn onto Fieldhouse Drive from Franklin Street, between the fieldhouse and the tennis courts, and park along the curb.

Those who arrive early should stay in their vehicle until their assigned time, then enter in through Door 29.

A nasal swab will be performed and those tested will return to their vehicles to await results, which should be available in approximately 15 minutes.

Those with a negative test may return to school as soon as they are 24 hours free of fever, vomiting and diarrhea, and their symptoms are still improving.

Those with a positive test will be given a return to school date and an extracurricular participation date.

Those who are unavailable to keep an appointment time should email [email protected], so the spot can be reopened.
