CARTHAGE
Michael “Mike” Dale, 63, of Carthage, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022, at Hancock Regional Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born on November 28, 1958, in Rushville, Indiana, the son of the late Robert John and Jennie Lee (Faust) Dale.
Mike was a life-long Carthage resident and loved the town of Carthage. He was a 1977 graduate of Knightstown High School. Mike worked for 15 years at the CVS Warehouse as a heavy equipment operator. His true love and hobby was guns. Mike worked for many years at Ramrod Gun Shop in New Castle and for Highsmith Guns in Greenfield where he was known as the “Beard of Knowledge” due to his long beard and his deep knowledge of guns.
He married the love of his life and close companion, Debbie McKay, on July 4, 1996. He also loved his dog Pistol Annie.
Mike was a kind, compassionate, trustworthy, and wonderful friend to so many.
Those left to cherish Mike’s memory include his loving wife of 25 years, Debbie Dale, a step-son, James Welch of Knightstown, his sisters, Debra (Roger) Paull and Tammy (Michael) Small both of Carthage; a sister-in-law, Becky Renollet of Carthage, and two nephews, Zachary (Kylisa) Small of Knightstown and Harold Renollet of Carthage.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Jennie Dale.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Heritage Funeral Care in Knightstown. Burial will be held privately in Carthage Cemetery.
