Kids will ‘spread the love’ in February

GREENFIELD – Children and teens may participate in a weekly art course this month focused on giving back to the community. “Spread the Love” is the theme of Greenfield Parks and Recreation Art Studio. Students will create thank-you cards for donors at the upcoming Greenfield Parks’ blood drive; paint 3-D flowers for senior citizens; create bookmarks for Little Free Libraries; and make portraits of adoptable cats and dogs for local animal shelters.

Registration is required at parks.greenfieldin.org. Classes are held every Wednesday at the studio in the lower level of the Patricia Elmore Center near Riley Park.

Live model art sessions this month

McCORDSVILLE – Hancock County Arts is offering several live model sessions to help local artists improve their skills.

A model will pose for a few 10-minute studies, then sit for 30 minutes, giving participants the opportunity to practice drawing the human form. Bring your own easel, paper and medium. Artists can attend one or all sessions in the series at a cost of $10 per session.

Sessions are at 6 p.m. today, Feb. 3, as well as Feb. 10, Feb. 17, Feb. 24 and March 3 in McCordsville Town Hall. For more information, visit www.hancockcountyarts.com.

Library to host virtual book clubs

FORTVILLE – An adult book club will be held virtually at 7 p.m. today, Feb. 3 through the Fortville Vernon Township Public Library.

“The Thursday Murder Club” by Richard Osman will be discussed. Sign up at the service desk or call 317-485-6402. The library’s next book club will be held virtually at 7 p.m. March 3 with a discussion on “The Light Between Oceans” by M.L. Stedman.
