2021 was a year of great expectations as well as dashed ones. We looked forward to a return to some sort of normalcy amid the pandemic, and that seemed to happen for a while. But as the year draws to a close, another surge in infections — Hancock County set a daily record for COVID-19 cases just this week — foretells another uncertain winter. But 2021 was also a year of accomplishments both large and small, proving the resilience of our communities.
