Grinch movie party scheduled

NEW PALESTINE — A “Grinch” movie party will feature activities and treats for the whole family Tuesday, Dec. 14 at the Sugar Creek branch of the Hancock County Public Library, 5731 W. U.S. 52, New Palestine. Kids are encouraged to wear “Grinch” items or pajamas and bring a pillow and blanket to snuggle into while watching the original movie. Reindeer event planned in New Palestine

NEW PALESTINE — -Pet a live reindeer and greet “elf” Jingle John at the Sugar Creek branch of the Hancock County Public Library. The outdoor event takes Wednesday, Dec. 15 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in New Palestine. Visit hcplibrary.org and click on the Events tab to sign up for a time slot.

Local historian to discuss veterans project

GREENFIELD — Author-historian Joseph L. Skvarenina is this month’s featured guest in the Hancock County Public Library’s local author showcase series for adults. Skvarenina will discuss his published history books and his contributions to the “Veterans History Project” in which he recorded local veterans, with an emphasis on WWII, sharing their war stories. The event is at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 15 at the main branch of the HCPL, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield.

Adult book club today in Fortville

FORTVILLE — “The Midnight Library” by Matt Hait will be the topic of discussion at an adult book club at 7 p.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 9. The Fortville-Vernon Township Public Library hosts the event at 625 E. Broadway St., Fortville. Call (317) 485-6402 for details.
