Ronald Allan Schroeder, age 88, of New Palestine, passed away Friday, October 29, 2021. He was born in Chicago on December 28, 1932 to Arthur I. Schroeder and Vera N. (Newton) Schroeder. He graduated from Marietta High School and served in the United States Air Force for 4 years. On July 6, 1957, Ronald married Betty Jean Hester in Highland Park, Illinois.
Before retiring in 1997, he worked in real estate for Falender and Justus Builders for 30 years. He was a member of the American Legion. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, reading and crossword puzzles.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Betty Schroeder; children, Donald (Lori) Schroeder and Karen (John) Scott; sister, Melissa Bowen; grandchildren, Adam (Valerie) Schroeder and Tyler (Laura) Schroeder; great-grandchildren, Parker, Noelle, Sawyer and Finn Schroeder. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Vera; and brother, Richard Schroeder.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary &Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will follow the visitation starting at 2:00 p.m. Friends may share a memory or condolence at www.erleweinmortuary.com.
