HANCOCK COUNTY — Two county marching bands are heading to the finals of the Indiana State School Music Association competition next weekend in Indianapolis.
The Greenfield-Central Cougar Pride and the New Palestine High School Marching Dragons advanced out of the semi-state competition on Saturday, Oct. 30, and will vie for a state championship on Saturday, Nov. 6, at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Both bands are among 10 that advanced in Open Class B competition, which was held at Pike High School. The last time the state band contest was held, in 2019, Greenfield-Central won the state title in its class.
