GREENFIELD
GREENFIELD – Lillie Irene (Hardin) Carlock, age 82, of Greenfield, passed away October 26, 2021. She was born in Indianapolis on June 8, 1939, to Earl Woodrow Hardin and Harriett (Daugherty) Brooks. She attended Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis. On September 19, 1971, she married Wayne B. Carlock in Indianapolis.
She worked for Indiana National and J.P. Morgan Chase Bank as a teller and commercial loan officer for many years. Irene was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Lawrence. In her free time, she enjoyed cross stitching, crocheting and loved giving crocheted afghans as gifts. She loved watching old movies and was an avid reader. Irene was a faithful and devoted wife and loved her family and grandchildren very much.
Irene is survived by her husband, Wayne Carlock of Greenfield; daughters, Debbie (Mark) Elsbury of Fortville and Denise (Jim) Barker of Lebanon; grandchildren, Michelle (Jake) Anderson, Ashley (Josh) Shepard, Matthew (Jessie) Elsbury, Emily (Michael) Linz, Haley Richardson, and Nicholas Brandt; and 11 great-grandchildren, Sydney, Brad and Abbey Malet, Rylan Shepard, Jack Albert, Jackson, Dylan, and Anne Marie Anderson, Cora Loudenburg, and Britney and Christina Linz. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Hardin and Harriett Brooks; son, Kenneth Wayne Carlock, and brother, Larry Hardin.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 1, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will follow the visitation starting at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Don Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
