James D. “Jay” Spaur, 52, of Fortville passed away Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield. He was born November 20, 1968, in Hammond, IN. Jay worked for Keihin IPT MFG in shipping and receiving for 14 years. He was a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School and a member of the Fortville Church of the Nazarene. Jay enjoyed Colts football, animals, tinkering with cars and woodworking. Jay always had a project going at his house. He enjoyed the past few years playing Santa Claus for friends and family The thing that Jay enjoyed most though was spending time with his family.

Jay is survived by his mother Pam (McKenzie) Spaur, twin sister Jennifer (Michael) Coffman, brother Stephen (Melanie) Spaur, nieces, nephew and a large extended family. He is also survived by his fur babies Bella his dog and Tiger his cat. He was preceded in death by his father James E. Spaur; grandparents, James B. & Vertina Spaur, Heyward McKenzie, Ellen & Tom Conklin.

A memorial service to celebrate Jay’s life will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at 5:00 pm at the Fortville Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Phil Edwards officiating. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 3:00 pm until the time of service. The family is asking everyone to wear Colts blue clothing to honor Jay.
