Creola Irene (Norris) Blevins, age 97, of Greenfield, passed away Thursday, October 21, 2021. She was born in Aaron, Kentucky on February 13, 1924 to John Fowler Norris and Bina Belle (Appleby) Norris. She graduated from Clinton County High School in Kentucky in 1944 and received an Elementary School Teacher’s Certificate from Berea University. She married Carson Raymond Blevins on May 28, 1947 in Jamestown, Kentucky.
She was a teacher at many places in Kentucky. Once she moved to Indiana, Creola worked at INB National Bank, in Indianapolis, as a note teller for 14 years, before retiring in 1986. She enjoyed going to church, cooking, spending time with her children and family, sewing and quilting. She was also an avid card player.
Creola is survived by her children, Lonnie Gerald Blevins, Kerry Lee Blevins, Gary Dale Blevins, and Janice Faye (Blevins) Miracchi; grandchildren, Jennifer, Matthew, Adrian, Lisa, Michael, David, Aaron, Nicole, Bailey and Carson; great-grandchildren, Lillie, Lena and London; sister, Ruth (Norris) Lollar; daughters-in-law, Ginny Blevins, Rene Blevins, and Jean Blevins; and son-in-law, Silvano Miracchi. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bina Norris; husband, Carson Blevins; and sisters, Dalene, Laura Mae, and Sylvia.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 1, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will follow the visitation starting at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Roger Kinion officiating. A visitation will be held on November 3, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Talbott Funeral Home, 1106 N Cross St, Albany, KY 42602. Burial will follow the visitation at Robert Story Cemetery in Albany, Kentucky.
