4-H open house will give youths a chance to enroll

GREENFIELD — An open house for families interested in joining 4-H will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, at the Hancock County 4-H Fairgrounds.

Purdue Extension Hancock County will be host for the event, which will be held in the Sarah Burke 4-H Exhibit Hall, 620 Apple St. There will be samples of 4-H projects, and club leaders and project superintendents will be on site to answer questions. Computers will be available to enroll in the 2021-22 4-H year.

Enrollment in Indiana 4-H is open to any youth enrolled in grades 3-12. Mini 4-H is for children in kindergarten through second grade. Grade is defined as the school grade the child is enrolled on Jan. 1, 2022.

Those that enroll in 4-H during the open house will receive a prize. The entire family is welcome to attend and may arrive at any time between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Social distancing will be practiced, and masks are highly encouraged.
