Food drive to benefit four pantries

GREENFIELD — The Fill a Truck, Fill a Pantry food drive is set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 16 in the parking lot of Greenfield Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), 210 E. Main St.

Non-perishable items collected will go to Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen, Hancock County Food Pantry, Fortville Area Resource Mission (FARM) and Shirley-Wilkinson Community United Methodist Church Food Pantry.

The food drive is sponsored by Greenfield Rotary.

Chicken, noodles available by carry-out

WILLOW BRANCH — Willow Branch United Methodist Church will have a chicken and noodles dinner carry-out on Oct. 16.

The church is located at 6254 N. Main St., Wilkinson.

Borgman to speak to seniors group

GREENFIELD — The Primetimers Group of Amity United Methodist Church, 6042 W. County Road 100N, will play host to speaker Lori Borgman, nationally syndicated columnist and Hoosier, at 1 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 6). Her topic will be “What Happens at Grandma’s Stays at Grandma’s.”

The public is invited. Reserve your spot by calling the church at 317-894-3047 and leaving your name and number. There is no cost.

Editorial cartoonist to speak at men’s breakfast

MT. COMFORT — A men’s breakfast is set for 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 2) at Mt. Comfort Church’s Mt. Comfort campus, 3179 N. County Road 600W, Greenfield.

Gary Varvel, a nationally syndicated editorial cartoonist, will speak on “The Secret to Success — Psalm 1.”
