HANCOCK COUNTY — The Level 1 felony molesting case set to go to trial this week in Hancock County Circuit Court has been postponed and will now take place in November, court officials said.
The deputy prosecutor and defense attorney involved in the case requested a continuance, which was granted by Judge Scott Sirk.
Kirk Dale Lonas, 57, has been accused of a Level 1 felony count of child molesting, among charges. Before the delay, the case was scheduled to go before a jury starting today (Tuesday, Sept. 21).
Lonas has been accused of molesting two children in Greenfield on multiple occasions from July 2019 to August 2020. The children were younger than 16.
