Family-friendly fun at Lord’s Acre this weekend

MCCORDSVILLE — Food, entertainment and free kids activities abound this weekend at Lord’s Acre Festival at McCordsville United Methodist Church. The event is 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 17 and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18. Friday’s activities include free face painting and a bounce house, worship band and car show. Saturday will also include a bounce house, balloon twisting, face painting, live music all afternoon, plus a free Silly Safari animal show at 4 p.m. Multiple vendors will be on site both days.

The longstanding event, which started in 1952, takes its name from the concept of farmers donating proceeds from an acre’s crops to the church. The church is located at 6247 W. Broadway St., McCordsville. For more, visit www.mccordsvilleumc.org.

Ice cream event today in Greenfield

GREENFIELD — Enjoy a sweet ending to summer with an ice cream celebration from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. today, Thursday Sept. 16 at Stillinger Family Funeral Home. The free event is open to the community and even furry friends. Head to the parking lot of the funeral home, 1780 W. Main St., Greenfield. All ‘fun and games’ in New Pal

NEW PALESTINE — Join in a game of Bingo, four corners and more in a “Fun and Games” event at 5 p.m. Tuesday Sept. 21, at the Sugar Creek branch of the Hancock County Public Library. Kids grades kindergarten through fifth are invited to attend; no special skills or athletic ability needed. If the weather is nice, games may be played outdoors. The library is located at 5731 W.
