Sally Ann Randall, a woman of strong faith who was never intimidated by what was going on around her, passed on the morning of August 26th, 2021, surrounded by family.

She was preceded in death by Devona Hill, mother; John Hill, father; and Richard Hill, brother. Sally is survived by her husband Ron Randall; her daughter Kathleen Robeson, Kara and Jake Robeson, grandchildren; her son Scott Randall (Tricia), Zachary and Emily Randall, grandchildren; her sister Linda Marsh (Gary), and family; her brother Steve Hill (Debi), and family; and her niece Michele Overy (Jack), Maddie and Nick Overy, great niece and nephew.

Sally was Valedictorian at New Palestine High School, Class of 1968, and was offered several scholarships to attend the university of her choice. Instead, she decided to marry at the age of 19, in 1969, and supported her husband as he attended Purdue University. Sally and her husband had a great life plan. She said, “Ron, graduate from Purdue and then I will go to Purdue to become a Pharmacist.” Unfortunately, like all great plans, theirs was derailed by the birth of Kathleen in 1971. They quickly learned that a life plan means very little compared to the love they had for Kathleen. Wanting to stay home with Kathleen and later with Scotty, until they went to school, Sally put aside her college career until 1979. She attended Purdue University to graduate Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree. After joining Allison Gas Turbine in 1983, she returned to Purdue part time to receive a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Science in Project Management from Penn State.

Sally was a strong women’s rights advocate in the aviation industry and worked very hard to prove that qualified women should be paid the same as men in executive positions. Her career at Rolls Royce spanned 31 years starting at Allison, then Clayton Dubilier and Rice, and finally Rolls Royce as the company was bought and sold. She was well respected by all of her colleagues and subordinates as she guided the Quality Department as Vice President.

Through it all, she always put family first. Together she and Ron raised two wonderful children who are also very successful and respected in their vocations. Her daughter, Kathleen Robeson, is the Mathematics Department Chair at Fishers High School. Her son, Scott Randall, is the Vice President of Sales at Bruderer Machinery. This is just a mere mention of the many achievements of Sally Randall.

She was dearly loved by her family and will be missed every day for the rest of their lives. She made a difference in so many lives. Sally fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith. She has joined the Cloud of Saints in Heaven.
