NEW PALESTINE

Angelica “Angel” Noelle Hood, flew suddenly into the arms of Jesus on the morning of Monday, August 23, 2021 following injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Shelby County. She was 21 years old.

Angel was born on June 22, 2000 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the precious daughter of Randy and Barbara (Crosley) Hood.

Angel attended Nazarene Christian School in Beech Grove and graduated high school as a Homeschool student in 2018. She earned an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration from IVY Tech in 2020. Angel managed Insure-Rite of Indiana. She also worked in the pet food business with her brother, Ashton, at Shepherd Boy Farms. Angel was a dependable and hard worker, who took great pride in her work.

She loved music, and for hours would sit and play the piano at home. The beautiful music that filled the house when Angel played the piano is one of the things her parents said they will miss the most. Angel also enjoyed playing the french horn, and for three years was a member of the Indianapolis Youth Symphony. Angel also played in the orchestra of Shelbyville Bible Holiness Church. Angel had a wonderful voice and loved to sing in church. She has no doubt already joined Heaven’s Angelic Choir.

Angel loved sports and had a competitive nature. She loved to play volleyball, basketball, racquetball, spikeball, ping pong, tennis, and golf. Most importantly, she enjoyed playing Scrabble and Boggle nightly with her dad. Angel loved evening bonfires, baking desserts, and fine dining. She also loved fashion, dressing up, and shopping.

Angel loved to travel. Her home away from home was Grand Cayman Island. She loved being there with her family and especially loved walking along the beach at night with her dad. She loved the water and loved to jet ski. Angel not only traveled to Grand Cayman, she also traveled to Australia, Italy, France, England, Greece, the Greek Islands, Turkey, Hong Kong, Macau, China, New Guinea, Egypt, Jordan, Israel, the Bahamas, the Turks and Caicos Islands, and all over the United States, including one of her favorite places, Disney World.

Angel had a way of making people feel special, and her smile would always light up a room. She was a great listener, a great counselor, but most of all a loyal friend. Angel took a genuine interest in others, she was a lifter of people, and always put a smile on their faces.

Angel loved her family very much. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, granddaughter, aunt, niece, and cousin.

Above all, Angel was passionate about serving Jesus and knew that reaching Heaven was life’s ultimate goal.

Those left to cherish Angel’s memory include her loving parents, Randy and Barbara Hood; her two brothers, Adrian (Brittany) Hood and Ashton (Kayla) Hood; her nieces and nephews, Mackenzie, Juliette, Liam, and Kylian Hood; her grandmothers, Carolyn Hood and Myrna Crosley; her aunt, Paula (Tommie) Phillips; uncles, Jonathan (Jessica) Hood, Joel (Mandy) Hood, Steve (Nyla) Crosley, and David (Tamarrah) Crosley; her cousins: Kaylee and Brooklynn Phillips, Zoe, Emma, Maddie, Faith, and Riley Hood, Crystal (Daniel) Martin, Stephen (Bridgette) Crosley, Dwight (Lorna) Crosley, and Melissa Crosley.

Awaiting her arrival in Heaven were her two grandfathers, Rev. Gene Hood, and William Crosley Jr, and her sister, Alicia Hood, who was taken at birth 33 years ago.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Shelbyville Bible Holiness Church, 2911 E. Michigan Road, Shelbyville, Indiana. Pastors Joe Smith, Stephen Smith, and David Crosley will officiate. Entombment will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.

Visitation was held at the church on Friday, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

For those who are unable to attend in person, the funeral will be live-streamed at www.shelbybhc.com/livestream.
