Leona Florence (Dobbins) True, age 86, of McCordsville, passed away Sunday, August 22, 2021. She was born in Maxwell, Indiana on November 17, 1934, to Lenna Dobbins and Iona (Price) Dobbins. She graduated from Maxwell High School in 1952. On April 16, 1955, she married Lloyd True in Mohawk, Indiana.

After high school, she worked at Greenfield Banking. Later at Mt. Comfort Elementary, she was a library aide for over 10 years. She was a 60-year member of Mt. Comfort United Methodist Church and was a past membership secretary. Leona enjoyed traveling, tending to her flowers, sewing, cross stitching, and bird watching, especially cardinals. She also enjoyed baking, cooking, and watching Purdue Basketball. She loved to spend time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and will be missed dearly.

Leona is survived by her loving husband, Lloyd True of McCordsville; children, Brian True of Greenfield, Robert “Bob” True (Cyndie) of Pendleton, Anita Lewis of New Palestine, and Steven “Steve” True of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Mandi Kostroski (Kyle), Rachel Hoffman (Dan), Amy True, Jessica Curtis (Dustin), Ashley Ailes (David), Dr. Diana True Kloiber (Casey), Ben True, Kelsey Charboneau (Andrew) and Kayla Gill; great-grandchildren, Isabella, Daniel, Madelyn, Mason, Dawson, Eliana, Rowan, Mila, Fenton, Alena and Luke; brother, Lloyd Dobbins (Peggy) of Eden, IN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lenna and Iona Dobbins; sisters, Verna and Louise; brothers, Johnny, Caryl, Dallas and Clyde; and son-in-law, Russell Lewis.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 27, 2021, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will follow the visitation starting at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
