County adds COVID-19 death; toll at 154

HANCOCK COUNTY — The county added a COVID-19 death Tuesday, raising its total to 154.

The fatality was a woman age 80 or older, according to information from the Indiana Department of Health.

Hancock County also added 48 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday, raising its total to 9,490.

Indiana added 57 new COVID-19 deaths, occurring between Aug. 15 and 23, raising the total to 13,885. Another 3,641 cases brought the state’s total to 829,010.

Nearly 41,000 Hancock County residents age 12 and older were fully vaccinated from COVID-19 as of early Tuesday, over 60% of that population. Statewide, more than 3 million age 12 and up are fully vaccinated, over half of that population.
