McCORDSVILLE — Town officials have approved an agreement with Fishers-based Rebar Development over the start of McCordsville’s town center.

The agreement calls for Rebar Development to build two four-story buildings with a total of about 200 apartments and commercial space near the southeast corner of Broadway and Mt. Comfort Road. McCordsville will fund $4 million in costs for infrastructure needed for the project and other future parts of the town center nearby.

At a special McCordsville Town Council meeting Tuesday evening, members approved the agreement 3-1 with Larry Longman, Tom Strayer and Barry Wood voting in favor and Greg Brewer voting against. Branden Williams was not present.

The town’s redevelopment commission will consider the agreement as well.
