GREENFIELD — Area theater groups are holding auditions for fall shows.

CrazyLake Acting Company will audition for “Clue” at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 29 and 6:30 p.m. Aug. 30 at H.J. Ricks Centre for the Arts, 122 W. Main St., Greenfield. The auditions are for ages 15 and older. The show will be Nov. 11-14. A COVID-19 vaccine will be required for cast and crew members in order to prevent an outbreak, the need to quarantine and the possibility of a canceled show. In Shelbyville, auditions are being held at 6:30 p.m. today, Aug. 17, and Wednesday, Aug. 18 for “Bad Seed.” Auditions are at SCP Offstage, 1416 Miller Ave., Shelbyville. The play is scheduled for Oct. 8-10, and Oct. 15-17. For more information, call Mark Owens, (812) 552-6618.

Cars meetup scheduled in McCordsville

McCORDSVILLE — A “Cars and Coffee” meetup will be held Saturday, Aug. 21 at Outlook Christian Church, 6531 N. 600W., McCordsville. The classic car show is from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Library book sale coming up

GREENFIELD — Friends of the Library is holding a book sale Aug. 19-23 with proceeds helping fund concerts, children’s performers and special projects at the Hancock County Public Library.

The sale kicks off at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19 with a “Friends” members-only preview sale, which includes gently-used books, audio books, DVDs, CDs and video games. Walk-ins may join the organization for $15 and shop the preview that night. The sale continues for the general public from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 20; 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21; and 1p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22. The final “bargain bag day” is 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23, where a paper grocery bag can be filled for $3 and a plastic bag can be filled for $2. The event is at the central branch of the HCPL, 900 W. McKenzie Road, Greenfield.

Fundraiser car, plane show scheduled

NEW CASTLE — A plane and car show Aug. 28 will help children get new shoes in the Kiwanis Club of New Castle-Henry County Children’s Shoe Program.

The fly-in/cruise-in fundraiser is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the New Castle-Henry County Airport, 2912 E. 400S., New Castle. Cheeseburgers, brats, hot dogs, chips and drinks will be served. All proceeds from food sales go toward the shoe program, in which the club so far has been able to provide nearly 400 children with a brand new pair of shoes in Henry County. The free event will include airplanes, medical helicopters and emergency vehicles on display.
