GREENFIELD — The Hancock County Solid Waste Management District is having a collection event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, at Covance, 671 S. Meridian Road, Greenfield.
The event is for Hancock County residents only and only cash and credit cards will be accepted.
Hazardous waste is $5 per carload. Electronics are $5 per carload, with a $20 fee for projection-screen televisions and Freon appliances. There is a $10 fee for all TVs 32 inches and larger, and a $5 fee for all TVs smaller than 32 inches, along with all computer monitors.
Document shredding is $3 per box. Tires are $4.50 off-rim, $5 on (car tires); the first two car tires off-rim are free. Latex paint is $1 per quart, $2 per gallon and $5 for 5 gallons. Aerosol cans are 50 cents each.
Shoe donations and expired nonperishable food will also be accepted.
