Grab reading by the tail

HANCOCK COUNTY — It’s not too late to register for the Hancock County Public Library’s summer reading program, Tails & Tales.

The club started June 1 and ends Aug. 1, but there’s still plenty of time to get credit for books read dating back to the start date.

The children’s program for kids through fifth grade allows children to earn prizes for all the time spent reading or listening to someone read. They can win a small prize after one hour, a free book after five hours and tickets for prize drawings for every hour total.

The teen summer reading program invites students in grades 6-12 to enter prize drawings for every hour read, in addition to earning a free paperback after 10 hours. Adults can also enter prize drawings for every hour read.

To register, go to hcplibrary.beanstack.org/reader365.
