Donations urged amid critical blood shortage
HANCOCK COUNTY — The American Red Cross continues to experience a severe blood shortage. Donors of all blood types — especially type O and those giving platelets may make appointments at upcoming blood drives in Hancock County:
2-7 p.m. today, June 29, at the Hancock County Fairgrounds, 620 Apple St. in Greenfield
2-7 p.m. Friday, July 2 at Mercy Road Church Northeast, 611 Vitality Drive in Fortville;
9 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 9 at Brandywine Community Church, 1551 E. New Road in Greenfield.
As a thank-you, all those who come to give July 1-6 will receive a Red Cross embroidered hat by mail, while supplies last. Donors who give blood July 7-31 will receive a $10 Amazon gift card by email, plus a chance to win gasoline for a year.
