GREENFIELD — The Hancock Amateur Radio Club will host its annual Field Day event on June 26 and 27 in the field behind St. Michael’s Church, at 515 Jefferson Blvd. in Greenfield.

For a 24-hour period starting at 2 p.m. June 26, under the pretense of a simulated emergency, the club will be conducting this year’s annual training exercise along with other Amateur Radio groups throughout the United States and Canada.

Local club members work throughout the year with the Hancock County Emergency Management Agency and the National Weather Service, serving as severe weather spotters for the county and reporting observations.

The public is invited to stop by and learn more about amateur radio during the event, for a 24-hour period starting at 2 p.m. June 26.
