GREENFIELD — The face of Will Vawter, a revered artist and Greenfield native, is gracing light pole banners in downtown Greenfield, thanks to a grant from the Hancock County Community Foundation.
The foundation awarded Hancock County Arts with a grant to purchase the banners bearing Vawter’s likeness to celebrate what would have been the artist’s 150th birthday.
The grant came from the Greenfield Revitalization Inc. Banner Fund, which provides support to the foundation, nonprofits and the city for the purchase and maintenance of banners for the downtown area.
