ZIONSVILLE — A Greenfield native who was named Miss Collegiate Indy last year is competing for the Miss Indiana crown this week.

Hallie Wright, 25, is one of 69 young women from throughout Indiana gathering in Zionsville to begin competition for more than $60,000 in scholarships and the titles of Miss Indiana and Miss Indiana’s Outstanding Teen 2021. The Eastern Hancock High School and Purdue University graduate will present a science demonstration during the talent portion of the competition. Her social impact initiative is “Become an Agvocate,” which seeks to resolve disconnections between people and agriculture.

Wright, who’s also a graduate student at the University of Georgia, was named Miss Collegiate Indy in January 2020, securing her a spot in the Miss Indiana Competition that ended up getting delayed a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Three nights of preliminary competition today (Wednesday, June 16), Thursday and Friday evenings will culminate in the Miss Indiana Final Competition on Saturday, June 19, when Miss Indiana and Miss Indiana’s Outstanding Teen 2021 will be crowned. Winners will go on to compete for the titles of Miss America and Miss America’s Outstanding Teen.

A livestream will be available for a small charge during all nights of competition. Details on how to access the livestream are posted at MissIndiana.org and on Miss Indiana social media channels.

Fans, friends and family can help ensure that their favorite contestant secures a spot in the final competition by voting for her at Vote.MissIndiana.Org to be a finalist. Only the top 10 contestants in Miss and Teen, plus the People’s Choice winners will compete for the titles on Finals Night. Each vote costs $1.
